Christopher Flatt – Building “Smart” Solutions with LiveCode Server

Professional Developer

Christopher Flatt

With a solid foundation in digital prepress, I began teaching at the university level in the late 90s. Picking up Livecode (then Revolution) out of general interest, I have since come to rely on Livecode for the majority of my programming needs, which these days focus on cloud-based mobile solutions. The power of the software, superlative customer support, and dedicated user communities are a combination hard to find elsewhere.

Livecode Server Smackdown! (Workshop)

What if you could leverage the ease-of-use and familiar syntax you already know and love from Livecode and use it to power your dynamic websites? Well, you can! While Livecode Server may seem a bit intimidating, once you understand the basics you will be well on your way to wielding it as you see fit. In this hands-on workshop you’ll learn everything you need to get started, including:
  • How to install and start using Livecode Server
  • How to generate basic (and not-so-basic) dynamic content
  • How to connect your site to a MySQL database
  • Real answers to your questions as we go
Recommended for current Livecode users of any experience level. A prior knowledge of HTML/CSS is helpful, but not necessary.

Automate Adobe PDF Forms Processing with Livecode Server

This topic will cover the basics of processing PDF form data submitted via HTML using Livecode Server. I will cover building a basic form in Acrobat, the settings required for submitting to the server, and the HTML/Livecode Script required to save the submission to a database and return a server-generated PDF response to the browser.
